Seven Helpful Techniques on Deep Meditation
Deep meditation can have several advantages in as far as a person’s total well being is concerned. It makes one in contact with his or her inner self. In order for deep meditation to be successful there are some techniques that need to be observed. As such, prior to embarking on a fulfilling spiritual journey, here are techniques that you need to consider:
1. Find a peaceful place where there are no disturbances. It also helps if you set a time wherein you will have to be in such place. It can be a room that is dimly lit or one that has none at all except for a candle that is lighted. Think of bright stars and how the place is illuminated by them. Have your pen and journal ready anytime.
2. Relaxing music soothes the soul and what can be more relieving that to listen to one while meditating. You need to practice to elevate your meditation to a much higher level. You will know that you are in harmony with your spirit and soul because of n overwhelming feeing that is characterized by peace and happiness. Others just simply cry unknowingly coupled wit a deep pounding in the chest.
3. In meditating, you will need to sit comfortably on a chair or a pillow set on the floor. Others meditate lying on their bed before going to sleep or just upon waking up in the morning.
4. Focus is very important in meditation. In fact, it is the name of the game. First timers usually find themselves disturbed with their minds wandering somewhere else. Although this is just normal, try as much as you can to control this kind of feeling. Instead, you can put your focus on the candle’s flame and clear your mind with unnecessary clutter. During meditation, one needs to let go of his or her physical body.
5. As soon as you have focused, relax and breathe deeply. Let the universe envelop you and meditate in such a way that you are one with it. A mantra is proven very helpful during meditation. Unlike what some said about mantra being a pagan practice, it keeps you focused all the time. It also helps you to have control over your thoughts and your feelings. Surrender your worries to the universe. Now is no longer the time to be hesitant or anxious. Feel free to express your thoughts and your apprehensions. During meditation, passing on information must be avoided accordingly.
6. Keeping still and being silent is very important when it comes to meditation. It is only by being in peace that you will be able to listen to what the universe has to say about your concerns and problems. Responses will vary depending upon your proficiency and level of meditation. Others experience having heard a voice that speaks with them while there are those who experience seeing different images and visions.
Whenever you experience having all these visions, try to concentrate at the images. Others may linger for a while whereas there are those that swiftly shift to another image. The key is to simply “see” if what is in the image. In case a series of images will flash in your thoughts, you might not be able to remember all of them but try not to do so because this urge will get in the way of your concentration. Visions will stop coming in and you will have to return from scratch.
7. Be grateful always for your ultimate source. There are many things that you need to be thankful about. First, you have to express your thanks for the time and the different responses that you received during your meditation. It is also important that you write down all the different experiences that you had during the meditation. Not all meditations can bring you a feeling of comfort but there can never be a bad meditation either. Unknowingly, one is able to accomplish something after each and every meditation. However, these are not meant to be share with everyone. Otherwise, you will only find yourself in the middle of something wherein you will have to explain yourself and defend all the insights and the ideas that you have been provided.
